Nintendo has announced that it will be discontinuing online services for its Wii U and 3DS platforms in April 2024, affecting multiplayer and other connected features. This follows the return of online features for the Wii U versions of Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon, which had been temporarily disabled due to a vulnerability related to online play. Notably, Pokémon Bank will continue to operate, and offline gaming will still be possible. The eShop sales of Wii U and 3DS games concluded in March of this year, and while no specific shutdown date has been provided, the company has indicated that services may be discontinued earlier than planned under certain circumstances.

Google is in the process of developing an emoji reactions feature for Gmail, aiming to bring a messaging app-like feel to the email platform. The feature, which was initially reported after code was found in the iOS Gmail app, allows users to react to emails with emojis, akin to similar features on platforms like Outlook. Further evidence of this feature has been found in the Gmail APK for Android.
